UnderRail is a retro isometric independent role-playing game based on turn-based combat elements, focusing on exploration and combat. The game is set in a distant future where life on the surface of the Earth has become impossible, and the remaining humans now live in the underground metro (UnderRail), a vast system of subway stations that seems to be the last fortress of a declining race.

UnderRail Gameplay

1、Players control one of the residents of this underground station community, and their lives will become more interesting and dangerous as our protagonist becomes embroiled in the conflicts of underground railway factions.

2、Be frugal with resources, and deal with unequal battles through traps, poison darts, stealth attacks, and mind control. Be cautious of enemies lurking in the shadows, as they may strike you with a fatal blow at any time.

UnderRail Strategy

1、Map

The map can be quite confusing for beginners, as there is no mini-map viewing system. It would be helpful to have an auto-drawing feature similar to Divinity: Original Sin. NPC descriptions of mission locations are too concise, which has been criticized in many reviews. Additionally, some areas and items seemed to be designed for exploration purposes, without any relation to missions. Personally, I found this quite tedious.

2、Difficulty

The game has a difficulty curve that goes from low to high, and then back to low. This can be disorienting in the early to middle game, but it's essential to persevere until the mid-game.

3、Skills/Attributes

Combat skills are always useful, whereas social skills and stealth are less effective due to the game's difficulty. In addition, extreme attribute allocation is more effective, and this game leans more towards adventure RPG rather than role-playing.

4、Game Speed

Movement speed is slow, but you can use cheat engine to speed it up if you are impatient.

At the beginning, the attribute allocation may be challenging, so it's advisable to follow a suitable guide based on experience.

It's important to realize that in UnderRail, each attribute of 5 is considered average, below 5 is relatively weak, and above 5 is considered strong.

1、Strength

Strength affects melee damage, backpack weight (1 point of strength = 10 pounds), and all firearms. A strength of 2-3 is sufficient for pistols, but for sniper rifles, 5 strength is required, and for rifles, 6 strength is needed. It's recommended to start with 5 or 6 strength for firearms.

2、Agility

Agility affects lockpicking, pickpocketing, throwing, melee critical rate, and can reduce the action point cost of small arms.

3、Perception

Perception affects accuracy and the ability to find hidden items.

4、Willpower

Willpower affects the power of psychic skills and the recovery speed of psychic points.

5、Intelligence

Intelligence affects various scientific skills such as engineering, electronics, chemistry, biology, and tailoring. It also affects the progress of the game, such as repairing elevators, power generators, and hacking computers.

Allocate points to different combat skills, defense, support skills, scientific skills, and psychic abilities according to personal preferences and build requirements. It's important to note that there is a level restriction on point allocation.
